Guardian Application
A Rare opportunity to welcome one of your best into your family.
Not every puppy is offered through our guardian program. Guardian homes are reserved for select dogs we believe have exceptional potential for the future of Kentuckiana Poodles.
These dogs live as loved family companions while remaining part of our breeding program until their contract is complete.
This is not a “free dog.” It is a long-term partnership built on trust, communication, commitment, and shared love for the dog.
What Is a Guardian Home?
A guardian home allows an approved family to raise and love one of our top-quality Standard Poodles while Kentuckiana Poodles retains breeding rights for a set period of time.
The dog lives in your home as your family member. You provide daily care, love, training, grooming, and routine veterinary care.
We remain responsible for breeding-related decisions and breeding-related veterinary expenses.
Once the dog has completed their breeding career and all contract terms are fulfilled, the dog is spayed or neutered and full ownership is transferred to the guardian family.
Guardian Homes Must:
Live within approximately 3 hours of Brandenburg, Kentucky.
Treat the dog as an indoor family member, not an outside kennel dog.
Provide proper training, socialization, grooming, and routine care.
Keep the dog on an approved food and veterinary schedule.
Maintain consistent communication with Kentuckiana Poodles.
Have reliable transportation and flexibility when the dog is needed for health testing, breeding, whelping, or stud service.
Notify us immediately of any illness, injury, heat cycle, behavior concern, or major life change.
Never breed, rehome, alter, transfer, sell, or surrender the dog without written approval.
Understand that the dog remains under Kentuckiana Poodles ownership until the guardian agreement is fully completed.

Who This Is Best For
Guardian homes are ideal for families who want an exceptional Standard Poodle without the full upfront purchase price and are willing to be part of something bigger within our program.
This is best for stable, committed families who understand that the dog is not just being placed as a pet, but as an important part of Kentuckiana Poodles’ future.
This May Not Be For You If:
You are uncomfortable with us retaining ownership during the contract.
You cannot bring the dog to us when needed.
You have intact dogs in the home without approval.
You travel often or have an unpredictable schedule.
You are not willing to keep the dog professionally groomed.
You are looking for a no-strings-attached free dog.
You may move outside our required area.
