Contract updates
I’ve made some updates to my contracts going forward.
Every I produce is my responsibility for life. That doesn’t stop the day they leave my home. I try to make this VERY clear from day 1.
If for ANY reason you cannot keep your dog, they are to be returned to me. Period. No exceptions. No rehoming behind my back, no shelters, no “finding them a new home yourself.” I will always take my dogs back, no questions asked, and After being fixed does NOT change the fact. This includes placement with friends or family. Any transfer of ownership must be approved by me, and a new contract will be completed with the new home to ensure the same standards and protections stay in place.
There are now strict penalties in place if this agreement is violated. Not because I want to “fine” people, but because I will not have dogs I’ve bred ending up in shelters or bouncing home to home. I also strictly enforce my spay/neuter and non-breeding agreements. You will be required to complete their spay/neuter (or approved alternative) within the timeframe outlined in my contract, (24 months) and I will be following up to ensure that is completed and documented.
This isn’t about micromanaging anyone, it’s about protecting the structure, health, and future of the dogs I work hard to produce.
All are microchipped prior to leaving, and I remain listed as a lifelong contact on the microchip. This ensures that if one of my dogs is ever lost, surrendered, or ends up somewhere it shouldn’t, I am notified and can step in immediately.
If you’re getting one from me, understand this upfront, you’re not just buying a dog, you’re entering into a long-term commitment, with me standing behind that dog for life.
If you’re not comfortable with that level of accountability, I’m probably not the breeder for you, and that’s okay.
